SITTING AT BLENHEIM. Blenheim, March 13. ! At the sitting of the Industries Committee, the Commissioner said they had gamed valuable information and he thought they would be able to some extent to reduce the cost of living, as well as help the industries of the country. Witness gave evidence as to the condition of the whaling industry which it was stated, required protection and development. Evidence was also given in reference to hydro-electric development in Marlborough and the railway extension to the West Coast coal fields in view of the prospective location of a I naval base at Picton.
