MERCHANTMEN BEFORE WARSHIPS BUILDING OF CRUISERS STOPPED. Received March 13, 7.40 p.m. London, March 12. Dr. T. J. Macuamara, Parliamentary Secretary to the Admiralty, announces the abandonment of the building of four batt's cruisers, tbus freeing the slips for mercl'autmen. Fifty-four of the ex-German submarines will be sold.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
