SWIMMING.
INGLEWOOD CLUB'S SPORTS. Favored with glorious weather, the annual sports attracted a large attendance of the public. The racing was exceptionally good, and the finishes remarkably close—a tribute to the excellent handicapping of Mr. R.'H. Geddes, who also carried out the duties of secretary in his usual painstaking manner. The judges (Messrs. A. Lile, F. Brown, W. Stephens and A. N. Baker) were very prompt in their decisions. A feature of the sports was the presence of the ladv swimmers, Misses Julian, McLean and Seabright again facing the judge, whilst Misses Humphrey and Eolston were interested spectators. In the high-diving the judges had a difficult task in coming to a decision, and Mrs. Baker and Miss -Julian had to take an extra header before the award went to the former. Miss Julian won last year, and was also successful in the 25 yards open. A contingent of Stratford swimmers lent additional interest to the various contests, and were generally very successful. The veteran C. Seabright, with his daughter Jean, scored a poplar wiu in the dual race of 50 yards. The events were all got off well to time, and at the dose the prizes were presented to the winners by the Rev. Harvie, of Inelewood. Details:
