PLUNKET SOCIETY.

The Royal New Zealand Society for the Health of Women and Children held itg monthly meeting on Monday. There were present Mesdames Burgess (in the chair), Ambury, Allen, Chaney, Fraser, Mortimer Jones, Newton King. MeHardy, Millar, Nicholson, Russell. Sinclair, Walter Weston and Miss Wade. Nurse Williams reported for the month as follows: — Babies under care 82 (solely breast-fed 30. partially 21, artificially 31), visits to homes 247, mothers preparing milk in homes 52, mothers shown how to prepare milk fi, visitors to rooms 13, mothers to rooms 115, babies to rooms 104, total 232. Final arrangements for the Plunket day effort on Saturday next were discussed and it was deeided to ask the public through the press for any contributions towards the different stalls— Bowers, cakes, vegetables, etc. It was also decided that the annual meeting of the society be held in the Plunket rooms on the evening of April 3rd, at S o'clock, and all subscribers and those interested be cordially invited to attend.
