A garden party wa-s given by thf Oovcmor-Oencrnl and lady Liverpool to fb> returned soldiers, but the majority of the (ill mldier patients in the Christchurch Hospital declined the invitation, owing to the fart that it would 'be necessary to attend in bine hospital uniform, which they objected to.
