FIRES.
AT AUCKLAND BISCUIT FACTORY. By Telegraph*—Press Association. Auckland, March 8. A fire at one o'clock broke out this morning in the premises of Bycroft Ltd., flour millers, Shorthand street, in the rear portion of the building, which escaped the conflagration of February B, which caused damage estimated at £15,000. The fire this morning completely gutted the biscuit factory and completed the ruin of the entire block from Shortland street to Chancery street. The machinery and stock were totally destroyed. Later. The insurances on Bycroft's premises were £58,000 in the New Zealand Insurance Company, which includes the loss of both conflagrations. There was practically a total loss, but the loss in this morning's fire has not yet been estimated in figures.
