THE LICENSING POLL.

SEAMEN'S DISABILITIES. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Dunedin, Last Night. In explaining the disabilities of the seamen in connection with the licensing poll in April the secretary of the local branch of the Seamen's "Union states that until the writ is issued no voting will be allowed, consequently seamen could not exercise their votes in the present issue as absent voters. The enrolment of voters closed before the issue of the writ. The crew of the Marama are registered in New Zealand, but as the vessel has left the Dominion they will be deprived of the opportunity of recording their votes, as no provision is made for them as absent voters.
