FAMILY QUARREL.

FURTHER ABOUT WESTPORT SHOOTING AFFAIR. Westport, March 3. John Walshe, who is charged with shooting his father, Michael Walshe, at Burnett's Face, on Saturday, is twentytwo years of age. A domestic disturbance was at the bottom of the trouble. It is said that the father was using bad language in froris of his large family and abusing his wife. Young Walshe chastised his father, who chased him into a room. The door was locked, and Walshe tried to get at his son through a window, when the young fellow produced a revolver and fired two shots. One entered the father's nose and lodged in his mouth; the other entered below the fifth, rib. Walshe fell to the ground, and the young fellow went to a neighbour's house and awaited arrest by a constable. Wal3he, senior, was moved to Denniston Hospital. The face wound is not serious, but that in the chest is believed to be dangerous. Young Walshe was brought in custody to Westport on Saturday evening, and lodged in prison. This morning he will be brought before the Magistrate's Court, and charged with causing actual grievous bodily harm. John Patrick Walshe was undefended when he appeared in court at 10.30. He was remanded till March 13, no hail being asked for. Michael Walshe remains in the same condition. Late enquiries show a danger of haemorrhage setting in in the chest wound.
