RETURNED SOLDIERS
COMPLAIN OP UNEMPLOYMENT. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Christchurch, March 5. At a meeting of the executive of the Returned Soldiers' Association a discussion took place regarding the unemployment of returned soldiers in the city. A resolution was carried that the Executive for the Christchurch Returned Soldiers' Association should appeal to the Christchurch employers to engage returned soldiers whenever possible. It is felt that while a large number of local firms are engaging returned soldiers, others are not playing the game, as they are content to employ girls and women to do men's work. In view of the fact that there are at present 100 returned soldiers seeking employment, the association asks all employers to endeavor to find work for these men. It was decided to send copies of the resolution to the Repatriation Board and to the Employers' Association.
