NEW SOUTH WALES STOCK. Sydney, March 4. A progress return of stock in New South Wales for the year ended last December shows an increase of 60,779 cattle and decreases' of 07,457 sheep and 10,521 horses. The decrease in horses is largely attributed to tho increasing popularity of motor traffic—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn. FLOODS IN AUSTRALIA. Melbourne, March 4. Floods in the East Gippsland district caused damage to the extent of £30,000. •Sydney, March 4. The floods at Bega destroyed the maize crop. The Bega river is causing enormous damage. DR. GILRUTH IN SYDNEY. Sydney, March 4. Dr, Gilruth has arrived. He is not prepared to discuss the administration of the Northern Territory.
