METHODIST MINISTRY.
SOLDIER CANDIDATES. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Christchurch, Last Night. There was quite an unusual feature about the ordination of six candidates for the Methodist ministry at Durham Street Church to-night, inasmuch as four of them had been on active service, one of them being still in khaki with his arm in a sling. . The candidates were Oswald Burnet (Mosgiel), Percy ICooke (Birkenhead), Francis T. Harris (Gore), E. Thomas Olds (Christchurchl, A. J. L. Minifie (Waimarino), and Wil.liam G. Slade (Tnvereargill). The first four named were returned soldiers. The ordination was conducted by the president of the conference (Rev. H. E. Bellhousel assisted hv Revs. T. A. Joughin, S. E. Lawry andW. A. Hay.
