The Defence authorities have been ad* vised that 68 eases of influenza have oc* currcd among the men of draft 219 on the steamer Port Melbourne. The cases developed since the vessel left England, but so tar as is known none are serious. Should extended quarantine be necessary the men will be quarantined at Motuihi Inland. WAVE DEVELOPING IN ENGLAND. By Telegraph. —Press Association. Wellington, Last Night, A cablegram from the High Commissioner states that the present influenza wave in Britain is developing. Return* for the week ending February 22 show the number of deaths in the 88 great towns had been 3046,, against 1803 for the previous week. London's total was 053, compared with 273 the previous week. Previous sufferers, although not immune, are afforded a certain amount of protection. DEVELOPMENTS IN AUSTRALIA ABORIGINAL CAMPS ATTACKED. Received March 4, 12.35 a.m. Sydney, March 3. There was one death from influenza in Sydney and seven in Melbourne. Influenza is ravaging the aborigines' camps in the northern rivers districts.
