MASTER PRINTERS' ASSOCIATION.

ANNUAL MEETING. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. The annual meeting of the New Zealand Master Printers' Association was held to-day, Mr. J. Gamble (Christchurch) presiding. The chairman expressed gratification that the war had come to a conclusion during the year, and referred to the great difficulty that had been experienced in conducting business dining the continuance of hostilities. Difliculties still existed, and the future was far from being clear of troublesome problems. Any expectation that the price of paper and other materials would fall had not been realised. He referred to arbitration and conciliation matters as they affected the printing trade, and urged the exercise of ■wise patience on the part of the leaders on both sides, so that a minimum of friction would take place. He also briefly referred to the matter of apprenticeship and technical training, and other matters of interest to the trade.

The following resolutions were passed unanimously: That this animal meeting of the New Zealand Master Printers' As sociation desires to express its deep sympathy with members of the printing trade in the Dominion who have lost relatives in the great war, which was concluded with a complete victory for our Empire and its allies on November 12, 1918; that the association thankfully records its gratification at the triumphant conclusion of the great war, and joins with all who rejoice that under Divine Providence the ,menace to civilisation threatened by the onrush of aggressive militarism has been fully and permanently checked.
