OLD BOYS' ASSOCIATION.

ORGANISATION REVIVED. A further meeting in connection with the reorganisation of the New Plymouth High School Old Boys' Association was held last night. 'Jhero was a very good attendance. Mr/P. J. White presided and briefly stated the reasons which had sent the association into recess in August, 1914. He also referred to the partial revival of the association again in December of 1917 in connection with the canvass of the district for funds for the re-building of the school. On that occasion officers were appointed, but all those elected had left the district, and it would be necessary therefore to appoint new officers. He said that no school of the standing the the New Plymouth School could be of its full use to the community without the backing of an Old Boys' Association. The chairman also stated that three members were required as representatives on the general committee for the arrangements in connection with the official opening of the new school. He outlined the general suggestions proposed for the opening ceremonies, and said it was hoped to have everything in readiness for April 3 and 4. On the first day the official ceremony would take place, and at niglit a citizens' ball in the new assembly hall. The association had never been disbanded and had a credit balance in hand. After a short discussion it was resolved to proceed to the election of officers, which resulted as follows:—President, Mr. P. J. White; vice-presidents, Messrs E. P. Webster and A. M. MacDiarmid; joint secretaries, Messrs F. C. Kelly and B. Wilson; treasurer, Mr. R. H. George; committee, Messrs A. Bewley, P. Jackson, R. Fox, C. H. Wynyard, R. M. Monteath, N. F. Little, and H. G. Grayling. It was agreed that all should hold office until October ne.vt, at which date the annual general meeting of the association was fixed to be held. The appointment of representatives to the committee for the school opening ceremonies was left in the hands of the general committee.

It was pointed out that membership of the association was by entrance fee of os, there being no annual subscription, but levies were made in connection with association functions.
