(From Our Own Correspondent.) Waitara, Feb. 24. Miss Stanford, principal of St. Mary's High School, Stratford, was the judge of an interesting musical competition on Saturday. She Lad to docide in four grades, the best playing of a selected piece of music, the candidate to have learnt the piece without aid either from teacher or friends. There were 23 entries and the results were as follows:—firade 1 Irene Sarten, 2 Florence Jonas, 3 Emily Aekland, 1 Kuetia Andrews and Amy Hall (equa!i. Miss Stanford's report stated that ..!■ though all grades were good. thought that "roup three showed the best all round work, five of the candidates gaining over SO per cent of the marks. Afterwards, in the Clifton Hall, the pifees were distributed as above, at a concert given by the pupils of Mrs and M'ss Marlow and Miss Atkinson, and prizes were also awarded' as follows to the candidates at the last Associated Board examination, nlitnininjf the highest mark l ;: (Primary) Wallace Bird, (elementary) Zeena Huse.
