AUCKLAND v. CANTERBURY. Christchurch, Feb. 22. The Plunket Shield match between Auckland and Canterbury was resumed to-day, the conditions being perfect in every respect. Canterbury continued their Ist innings, which closed for 291 (Jones 10, Wood 95, Brunton 40, Thomas 73, Gray 27 McEwin 17, Howell 9 not out). Smith got six wickets for 109, Coates three for 63 Auckland made 142 (Hemus 41, Horspool 11, Sloman 20, Bevcrcdgc 19) Mcßeth got nine wickets for 56, McEwin one for 54. At the call of time Canterbury, in their second innings, had lost four wickets for 209 (Lusk 94, Jones 51, Wood 25, Hayes 22 not out).
