DUNE DIN KEVIDENCE. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Dunedin, Last Night. Mr. C. A. Wilson urged increased protection, say, of 20 or 26 per cent, on malt flour extract preparations imported from Australia. J. Greenfield and .T. Neil, representing the sugar of milk and casein industries, protested against the railway freight on muriatic acid, and also against having to pay the same railage on low grade coal as on the best grade. Mr. Wilde asked for the same protection for the felt hat industry as obtained in Australia. He thought the Arbitration Court should not interfere with the wages of workers who competed against overseas labor unless the tariff was regulated accordingly. J, B. Shacklock expressed the opinion that the industries New Zealand should develop were those closely associated with the primary products of the soil. He thought if it was desired to protect certain industry there should be uomething in the nature of a bonus based on freights between here and the Old Country
