ILL-TREATMENT OF POLES. AT HANDS 0? GERMANS. Received Feb. 19, 11.30 p.m. London, Feb. 18. The Polish Foreign Minister has protested to Germany and acquainted the Allies with the treatment of the first hatch of repatriated Polish deportees, comprising 25,000 men and women and 050 children, who were conveyed to the Polish frontier day and night in open trucks, while 21 degrees of frost prevailed, causing the death of 50 children, While at the frontier station the Germans robbed the repatriated Poles of all their money, footwear and extra clothing, and detained men between the ages of fifteen and 35.—Aus. and N.Z. Cable Assoc. OPENING OF THE DIET. GREAT POPULAR DEMONSTRATIONS Received. Feb. 19, 11.30 p.m. London, Feb. 17. The Daijy News' Warsaw correspondent states that there were great popular demonstrations on the occasion of the opening of the Diet. The city is en fete. Thousands thronged the streets and cheered the Allied delegates, who were accompanied by Paderewski and the Polish Ministers.—Aus. and N.Z. Cable Assoc.
