DISTRICT NEWS.

MOKAU. (From Our Own Correspondent.) The ordinary monthly meeting of the Mokau Harbor Board was held on i!k 13th inst., there being present: Messrs S- Whitehead (chairman), A. (■}. Sampson, A. W. Sole, H. R. Terrill, F. H. Car,rmgton, H. Maine, and W. D. Black. Correspondence from the Marine Department was read, and left in the hnnds of the chairman and secretary to deal with. It was rosolved to advertise forthwith for applications for the position of secretary and wharfinger. The officer appointed, to take up the duties on the Ist of April next ensuing. Mr Whitehead gave notice to mlove at next meeting: T:iat the Board's tariff in respect to charges on goods be revised. It was resolved that Captain Tiysantson (signalman) be secretary until a permanent officer be appointed. Accounts to I the amount of £43 lis Sd were passed I for payment, this concluded the business.
