Facta that every ratepayer should know when he goes to the poll : 1. Our property in electric plant, conservatively valued at 31st March, 1918, was £76,403. 2. £18,150 3s of that amount is capital provided by the business itself out of earnings.) 3. In addition to the £18,150 3s placed to capital to provide plant, a further £12,200 stood to credit of the Electric Light Department on 31/3/18, part of which has been. expended on extensions duriag the current year. & In 1911 the Electric Department earned £4579, and in 1918 £14,068, while the net profits rose in the same time from £lB5 to £2193. 9. Output has reached limit until new scheme gone on witfll 6. Expenditure of loan money asked for will raise the earning capacity of the plant 7. Revenue will increase by £IB.OOO, while expenses, including interest and depreciation, will only increase by £5500 i —a clear extra gain per year of £12,500. 8. The loan of £40,000 will find the means for this extension. 9. No rate has ever been paid on electric light loans and never will be. 10« Under the completed scheme it will soon provide means for other borough improvements, See that your vote backs the business,
