In the presidential election Herr Ebert secured 227 votes, Scheidemann and F.rzberger one each, and Count Posadowsky (a Conservative) 49.—United Service. DESERTERS JOIN SPARTACISTS. RIOTING IN BERLIN. Received Feb. 11, 3 p.m. , Copenhagen, Feb. 11. Thousands of deserters joined the Spartacists. There has been rioting on the outskirts of Berlin for the past few days. An organisation has been established for the purpose of gaining intimate relations with the Russian Bolshevists Reuter. WARSHIPS WANTED. ; - TO FIGHT THE BOLSHEVIKS. THE NEW PRESIDENT'S SALARY. Copenhagen, Feb. 11. . The German President will reside in the ex-Kaiser's Berlin Castle at BelleVue. His salary will be £50,000 annually.
