AUSTRALIAN EPIDEMIC GROWING. Melbourne, Feb. 12. There were ! 182 fresh cases of influenza reported to day and 22 deaths, 'making a total of 1916 infected and 232 deaths. The Government has closed all hotels -within a radius of fifteen miles of the city. The (Federal Government haa ignored appeals from Kew South Wales and continues to grant shore leave to returning New South Wales troops. Mr Watt has issued a final appeal to the State Governments to unite the Commonwealth in uniform, acceptable measures to prevent the spread of the epidemic.
