MINERS' TROUBLES.
A DOCTOR WANTED. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. Representatives of the miners at the State mine called to-day on the Minister of Public Health, the Chief Health Officer, and the Under-Secretary of Mines, re a doctor for the district. Mr. Russell stated that the Government would grant a subsidy to the Runanga Medical Association to help it to obtain a suitable medical man, and he mentioned that the department would issue an advertisement accordingly. The delegates remarked that they wished to know how long this process might take. Dr. Valintine said that he would try to arrange with a Greyinouth doctor to work at Runanga till a permanent appointment could be made.
