■«!»■ FATAL FALL FROM TREE. By Telegraph.—Pr'eas Association. Weslport, Feb. 11. William Johnson, aged 36, a married man with two children, fell from a tree at Karamea yesterday, receiving concussion of the brain, and died last night.

CHARGE OF MANSLAUGHTER. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, Feb. 11. Thomas Albrecht was found guilty of the manslaughter of his mother and was sentenced to one year's imprisonment with hard labor, to be followed by reformative detention for a period not exceeding three ycara.
