At Papakura, dairy cows and heifers I sold under keen competition, best selling to £2l, others £8 to £l3, bulls £0 to £l7 2s 6d, according to weight and quality; small yearling bulls £3 10s upwards, empty cows and heifers £0 to £9 2s Gd, heifers, suitable for dairy purposes £5 to £7, yearling to 18-month steers £4 10s to £7 ss, 2 to 3-year steers £8 to £lO 10s, no grown steers were yarded; yearling to 18-month heifers £3, 12s 6d to £(> ss. The sale for calves was dull, best selling to £2 17s others £1 5s to £2, inferior c&lves 12s upwards, aged and inferior cows £2 to £5. At Westfield fat stock market choice ox sold at £2 lis per 1001b, others £2 8s to £2 10s per 1001b, cow and heifer beef sold at from £2 4s to £2 9s per 1001b. Steers sold at from £l3 17s Gd to £2l 12s Gd, cows and heifera sold at from £8 10s to £l7 ss. Calves: Heavy vealers made from £3 2s Gd to £4 17s Od, medium £2 12s 6d to £3, light 35s to £2 7s Gd, small and fresh dropped 3s to 255, Died) n well-done calves are wanted. Pigs: A good average yarding, with prices a little easier than last quotations. Heavy baconers £4 15s to £5 15s, small choppers and light baconers £4 to £4 12s Gd, large porkers £3 2s Gd to £3 12a Gd, medium £2 5s to £3, small £1 7s Gd to £2 2s Gd.
