PACIFIC PROBLEM
AN AGREEMENT REACHED. j AUSTRALIA AND NEW ZEALAND TO GOVERN. Received Jan. 28, l.tt p.m. Paris, Jan. 27. The newspapers, apropos of to-day's discussion regarding the German colonies, state that Britain and the United States have arrived at an agreement that certain colonies in the Pacific theoretically belong to the league of nations, but the actual government is to be delegated to Australia and New Zealand. London, Jan. 27. During his address to the Council Mr Masscy stated that a confidential plebiscite v.'tts taken by New Zealand's administration among the Samoan chiefs and native leaders. Mr Massey claimed it showed an overwhelming preference for British rule and condemnation of German rule. —United Service.
