MARSHAL FOCH'S VIEWS, GERMAN Y WILL PULL ITSELF TOGETHER. Received Jan. 21, 8.40 p.m. Paris, Jan. 20. Marshal Foch, in an interview, stated he woe of opinion that the Germans had not exaggerated much regarding the need of food. Marshal Foeh does not share the view that Germany is incapable of further effort, as it still possesses an army, although disorganised. On the other hand the occupation of the Rhineland is the strongest imaginable strategic barrier. He does not fear the serious growth of Bolshevism in Germany, mi believes Germany will pull herself together and sweep aside this wave of poison gas.— Aus v N.Z. Cable Assaw. AGRICULTURAL MACHINERY. TO BE SURRENDERED, Received Jan. 21, 8.50 p.M. Paris, Jon. 18. In addition to the surrender of all completed submarines and the destruction of the uncompleted vessels> and the Entente's utilisation of German merchantmen, the new armistice conditions require the surronder of much agricultural equipment.—Aua. Herr Erzeberger informed b. conference of German railway managers that Marshal Foch estimated the indemnity necessary to restore Belgium and Northern France at thirty milliards of marks, and to repair other damage twenty milliards.
