ATTITUDE OF RETURNED SOLDIEftS ASSOCIATION. By Telegraph.—Prats Auoektin Wellington, Ijiit Night. » Interviewed on tho subject of repatru tion, Mr. Batten, president of the Ne» Zealand returned Soldiers' Association, said that before he agreed to act as district officer for Wellington he consulted the local sub-committee of the Dominion executive. The members Were strongly in favor of his acceptance of tho position, and the sub-committee passed the following motion: "That this executive sub-committee of the New Zealand Returned Soldiers' Association, while disagreeing with the method of establishment and constitution of the Repatriation Department and the method of appointment to the position of director, realises the urgency and importance of this work. The association will fore give its whole-hearted support w the work of the department. At the same time the association lacks con* fidence in tho department as at preient constituted, and will make eveiy «ai deavor to carry into effect the protests already recorded tby the Returned Sol» diers 1 Association ftnd other bodies,* •
