THE POLITICAL PARTIES.
WDERGCHNG GSR EAT CHANGE. Received Jan. IC, 7.30 p in. •Loudon, Jail. 13. Renter's correspondent states that the Berlin National Assembly election campaign is in full swing. Revolution has greatly changed. the old parties. The four main groups are, broadly, the Conservative;:, Centralists, 'Liberals, and SVicialists, but all are sailing under new flags.
The Majority Socialists' programme emphosieq that '.he party oi'ly supported a defensive war. The Independents will co-operate with the moderate Socialists at Munich, but not in 'Berlin, where the Independents include a more or less strong left wing—namely, the ComrumistM under Liebkuccht. The Liberals have also had a split Their left wing, which waa the strongest, comprised the German democratic party and real Liberals from the former National Liberal party, while the right wing conjprise a majority of former National Liberals, some Conservatives, and Radicals. This wing calls itself tho "German People's Party." The main plank of the left wing of Liberals is a republic, based on the sovereignty of the people. The right wing plead? for capitalists interests. Tho Centralists now call themselves "a Christian People Party," and, while upholding Catholic interects, are generally democratic The old Conservative Party include:, Christian Socialists, pan-Germans, Fath erlandw?, anti-Spmites, and calls itself "Tha Reman National People's Party," it adheres to the idea of monarchy,and aims at a bloc with the Centre. SPARTACISTS' ATTACKS. SUCCESSFULLY RESISTED. Received Jan. 16, 2.15 p.m. Amsterdam, Jan. 13. The Spartacists in Dresden tried to rush the Voiles Zeitung offices. The Government troops repulsed them. The Spartac! Tts also tried to capture the Gmldhii', but weTa again repulsed. They were ejected from the Kreuz Zeitung offices, 'but overturned the newacarts and burned the contents. The Bolsheviks in Stuttgart .capped the Town Hall. There were tumultuous scenes lasting all night, being accompanied by much firing and some casualties.
