PRODUCE RECORD.
BUTTER AND CHEESE SHIPMENT WORTH £1,000,000 VESSELS TO LOAD THIS WEEK. A record shipment of butter and cheese, valued at £1.000,000, is to be taken from Auckland by two steamers, the Durham, and the Ayrshire, which are expected to commence loading this week. Owing to conditions arising; out c' the war a great ileal of produce has been stored in New Zealand, and it has been found necessary to provide additional cold storage to accommodate the accumulated stocks. The Auckland Farmers' Freezing Company, Limited, which is to make the shipment, has beeu notified that shipping space lias been allotted on these two vessels for 208.550 luxes of butter, representing considerably over 5000 tons, and 7500 crates of i heese, amounting to another 500 tons This produce is held in cold storage in Auckland to IJie order of the Imperial Government. At the Government prices the butter is worth £945,000, and the cheese £56,000 The Durham' is due at Auckland on once. The Ayrshire will follow shortly afterwards. It is stated that the sliip*ment of this produce wii' leato ample cold sortage for all the meat available for freezing this sea-ion.
