The Teachers' Institute adopted the report on, the requirement of school buildings and furniture, demanding oil area of live acres for the former and up to twenty in country districts, to provide playgrounds, gardens, and paddocks for children's horses and teachers' cows. Other resolutions wero passed asking for asi increase in pensions for taechers' widows, long leave after twenty years' service on full or half pay, and improvement for teachers' residences. The following officers were elected.:— President, Mr C. R Mimro; vice-presi-dents, Messrs. A. Erskinc and W Phillips; treasurer, Mr J. E. Purchase; non-official members of executive, Miss Cr.ad (Wellington), Messrs. Newton (Thames), M'llrov (Tarftoaki), Webß (Wellington), Evans (ChrLsfceiuirch), and Blake (Wellington).
