SUPREME COURT.
By Telegraph.—Press Association. Napier, Jan. 14. The Supreme Court session opened today. His Honor, Mr Justice Jlc>kin.tr, in addressing the Grand Jury, said this was the first occasion in some four years that the Court had not sat under the shadow of a great war. Unfortunately the horrors of war had beeil followed by an influenza epidemic, and this had been the cause of the postponement cf the sitting. Fortunately, the work to be submitted was small, and the calendar showed no sexual eases. AV. A. C'lelimd was sentenced to two years reformative treatment for breaking and cnteringvto which lie had pleaded guilty in the lower court. R. N. Martin was found niilty of falsely registering a child as that of his wife when it belonged to another woman. - Sentence was deferred till tomorrow.
