Waitara, .Tan. 1-1. Tlio school committee held its usual monthly meeting last liialit. It. wp.s decided to build a dressing' shed right across the southern end of the school bath, and that a tablet giving the names of the subscribers ' to ths haths he affixed, to the eastern wall. The chairmail read a letter'from the Edneation Bnard asking the committee to wive the cleaning of the school and outhouses more attention. It was decided to write the hoard oxplajninjr the position. The tender of Mr. A. .7. Arms (£1 10s) for the hay in school grounds was accepted.
A social and dance is to lie held in the Clifton Tin!l on Thursday, .Tannery l(i. in aid of the- Seaside Improvement Society, and, given a tine night, there should be a good attendance.
The band members are having a meeting to-niprht to appoint a permanent conductor. Under the baton of Mr. H. K. Cudby the band has improved a lot, and I do not think the hand will make a mistake if they give Mr. Cudby the position.
