BLACK-LEG AMONG STOCK.

INFECTED AREAS DECLARED. Amended regulations under the Stock Act for the prevention of black-leg among cattle are gazetted this week. They declare certain portions of the Auckland, Wellington and Taranaki districts to be infected districts.

Thp Wellington and Taranald areas are as follow: All that area in the Taranaki and Wellington Land Districts bounded towards the north generally by the Mokau River from the Bea to the north-western corner of the MokauMohakatino No. 1G Block; thence by the western and south-western boundaries of that block and the iiorth-casteriv boundary of Mokau-Mohakatino .No. IJ Block to Tawhitiraupeke Trig. Station, thence by Blocks IV and VIII, Waro Survey District, to the Tongaporutu-Manga roa Road; thence by that road to the westernmost corner of Section No. 22, Block V, Ohura Survey District; thencb by the eastern watershed of the Tangarakau Stream, over Mahoewaruwarei, Tatu, and Peneta Trig. Stations to tilt Ohura Road; thence by the said Ohura Road to the Heao Stream; thence by thai stream to the northern boundary of tb% Whangamomona County; thence by th« leading spur eastwards to the western watershed of the Ohura River; thence by the watershed to the Wanganui River a\ Onetea;. thence by the right bank of the said Wanganui River to the point whom it meets the south-eastern boundary line of the Hawera County to the sea; and thence towards the south-west, west, and north-west by the sea to the Mokau River aforesaid. All that area in tne Tayanaki Land District bounded towards the earth-west generally by the southeastern boundary of the Hawera County from the mouth of the Manawapo River to where the confiscation line intersect? the Patea River; thence towards the east generally by the said Patea River to t.lie ocean; and thence towards the southwest by the ocean to-the place of cujuI maacemect.
