After Paderewski and the British Colonel Wade arrived in Posen the Germans continuously sniped their rooms. Children formed a procession and marched past the hotel and cried: "Long live England!" A German machine-gun fired, killing several children. The Poles defended the hotel for two days until the Poles captured the,city.—Aue. N.Z. Cable Assoc. PADEREWSKI UNITING THE POLES. New York, Jan .9. It is announced that M. Paderewski has gone to Poland to bring about cooperation between Prussian, Austrian, and Russian Poles.
