TRAINING OF SENIOR CADETS.

TO "MAKE THEM PHYSIC ALLY'TIX.

By Telegraph.—Pres* Assseiatien. Wellington, Last l^ght.

The new syllabus of training for senior cadets -will ibe issued shortly, containing important alterations. The large number of rejections from the Expeditionary Force on account of physical unfitness has directed the attention of those concerned to the importance of efficient physically fit youths. In other words, the purely military side of the training will bo subordinated to the other. In addition, greater attention is to be paid in educating youths as to their duties of citizenship, and as future possible defenders of New Zealand.

In order to ensure that the isyllabus will ,be carried out in an efficient manner, a special class for physical instruction will be inaugurated at Trentham tomorrow, being attended by secondary schoolmasters, cadet and Territorial officers and staff sergeant-majors. The bourse, which will extend over three weeks, will be conducted under the supervision of Captain Brocks, M.0., Army Gymnastic Staff, -who was chief instructor in physical training and (bayonet fighting in the reinforcement camps.
