"A DEN OF THIEVES."
WOMAN'S STRANGE ACT.
Hobart, Dec. 23.
An uncommon occurrence took place in the House of Assembly yesterday. Parliament recently refused to reopen the question of compensation to landowners whose land had been taken for the Tyenna railway. Mrs Sharp, one of those concerned, was considerably aggrieved thereby, and had 'been buttonholing members of Parliament, endeavoring to get redress, but each time without success.
Yesterday she renewed her efforts, and, failing, she tried to force her -way into the Chamber. Being prevented, she let forth a series of piercing shrieks, and denounced members oa "a gang of rogues," and the Assembly as "a den of thieves." Her paroxysm of rage lasted for fully fifteen minutes, for a portion of which tune the business of the House had va -be suspended.
