WEDDING.
SMART—LEVIES. A quiet and pretty wedding was solemnised at the residence of the bride's parents, "Pacific YiHa>" Oakuxa, on Sunday, December 29, when Gwendolina Ada, second daughter of Mr- and Mrs. Tom Smart, was united in the bonds of holy matrimony to Joseph Thomas, second son of Mr. and Mrs. J. T. Levien, of Wellington. The Kev. Cliarles Addenbrooke performed the marriage ceremony The bride, who was given away by her. father, looked very nice in a pretty frock of white crepe de chine witli the orthodox veil and orange blossoms, and carried a bouquet of white flowers and asparagus fern. The bridesmaids were her two sisters, Misses Doreen and Ella Smart, who wore neat frocks of white frosted voile. The duties of best man were carried out by Mr. Monte Levien, brother of the bridegroom. The bride's gift to the bridegroom was a gold signet ring. The bridegroom's present to the bride was a morocco handbag, arid to the bridesmaids pretty gold brooches. During the afternoon a small reception was held for relatives and a few intimate friends. The happy couple were the recipients of a large number of useful and handsome presents and congratulatory messages.
