BOWLING.
YESTERDAY'S PLAY. • The howling tournament was continued yesterday under scarcely any better conditions, so far as the weather was concerned, than on tho Stat day. There was heavy rain during the night and up to the time of commencing play, and when the rain ceased a high wind prevailed throughout the day. The sections were completed by about tho middle of the afternoon, being won outright by Starlcey in section A, Oliver in B, and A. K. Smart in C. In the first day's results the win credited to Jury against Wyllie should have been reversed, Jury retiring with 2 to Wyllie's 24. The semi-final between Smart and Startcey was piavsa on the New Plymouth Green, and was won by the former, the scores being: 27-11 THE FINAL. WON BY SMART Although the hour was late to commence the final of the tournament between A. K. Smart (New Plymouth) and Oliver (West End), it was decided to finish the tournament yesterday. Oliver opened well by scoring 7 before his opponent had any to his credit. Tlie leads on both sides were playing well giving their skips gerat help, but towards the close of the fame Oliver's lead fell away. Smart gradually closed up and eventually drew ahead. Oliver wanting two to Me on the last head, hut the game ended Smart 21, Oliver -20, Smart's team thus winning the tournament and the silver buttons, an honor thev well merited.
