IMPROVING LABOR CONDITIONS. HEAVY repatriation burden. Received Jan. 1, 7.45 p.m. London, Dec, 30. The Daily Express announces that the Government is planning international action at the Pease Conference for the improvement of labor conditions in every country and the prevention of sweating. Prance is heartily in accord with the plan. President Wilson has departed for France. Britain has released ships to carry homeward 40,000 American troops. It is pointed out that the burden of repatriating Dominion soldiers and returning the Chinese coolies is heavy.— Aus. N.Z. Cable Assoc.
