GERMAN COMMERCIAL AGGRESSION. NO MARKET LEFT UNTOUCHED. Received Jan. 1, 7.50 p.m. New York. Dec. 31. Speaking at Boston, Mr. Mitchell Palmer, alien property custodian, said that the plana for Germany's commercial aggression, after the treaty of peace had been ratified, had been prepared- in such minute detail that no market in the world will be left untouched.— A SERIOUS EXPLOSION. ATTRIBUTED TO ANARCHISTS. Received Jan. J, 7.45 p.m. New York, Dee. 31. A serious explosion in Philadelphia damaged the houses of prominent citiz-ens. AMERICAN NAVAL SUPREMACY A LARGE PROGRAMME. Received Jan. 1, 12.55 p.m. Washington, D"c. 30. Mr. Joseplnis Daniels (Naval Secretary), reiterating the necessity for the United States having the largest navy in the world, said the United States was building or planning to build thirty-nine battleships.'six cruisers, eight armored cruisers, forty light cruisers, 342 destroyers, 181 submarines, and 100 other craft.—Aus.
