An inquest was held on Grace Albrecht, who died on December 23 after being injured by her son Thomas on December 4-. The assailant is on remand on a charge of manslaughter. Dr. Flffe stated that death was due to a fracture of the fourth vertebrae, which could only be thj result of direct violence Other medical evidence showed that deceased was admitted to the hospital in a state of paralysis on December 13 and died ten days after. Witnesses stated that Thomas. came home drunk and quarrelled With his motheir about the quality of his food and struck her m the face. Shortly afterwards she was in a paralysed state Mr Riddell, S.M., gave a verdict that death was due to fracture of the spine, due to a blow inflicted by Thomas Albreclit on December 4.
