INDUSTRIES INQUIRY.
PARLIAMENTARY COMMITTEE TO SIT. The inquiry that is to he conducted during the recess by the Industries Committee of the House of Representatives will be opened in Wellington in February. The committee is to gather information as to (he, possibilities of increasing production and stimulating industries in New Zealand, and it will take the evidence of persons who are able to throw light upon these subjects. including representatives of the chambers of rommeree and industrial associations, scientific men, manufacturers, and producers. The chairman of the committee is Mr C'. A. Wilkinson, member for Egmont. The committee wil sit in Wellington. Auckland, Christchurch, Dunedin. Wun>'iinui, Xanior. Timaru, flreymouth, and lavewargill. Visits to one or two other centres may possibly be arranged. Persons who are able to .give the cfuvimittee useful information will be invited to give evidence. The report of the committee will be presented to Parliament next session.—Argus.
