At the Supreme Court, Patrick Guim, wiio had pleaded guilty to breaking and entering and theft, was'declared an habitual criminal, and sentenced to two years' hard labor on ?ach 'charge, the terms to be concurrent.
Charges of manslaughter, arising outof the fatality in the Khyber Tas= on August 12, were preferred against two taxi-cab drivers, Sidney Carey and Rupert -T. Morris. As the result of being knocked down hy Carey's car, a tramway employee named John Patton was killed. The evidence was that the two cars came down-hill, arjd on approaching (In excavation on the tramway, went on to the right-hand side,of the road, Patton \mntx strati? hy thi?. second car a? lie was crossing the footpath. A verdict of not guilty was .returned in both cases.
