AGGRIEVED AUSTRALIANS. LEAVER London, Dee. 11. The aggrieved Australians at Devonport are men who enlisted in 1915. They complain that whereas the 1914 men were given numerous privileges, they only had periodical short leave. They 4avc now been embarked from Pranceto Devonport for immediate repatriation. They state that many enlisted in January and February, 1915, as soon as they became of military age. The matter Baa been referred to the authorities. ■ The Somali left Plymouth to-day. STATEMENT BY PRIME MINISTER. London, Dec. 12. Mr. Lloyd George, referring to a letter quoted by Mr. Thomas, said he had no control over the opinions of generals. The Cabinet had never heard of the ■scheme.—Aus. N.Z, Cable Assoc. EXPORTS STILL SUBJECT TO i CONTROL. i _ London, Dec. 12. ' Dr. Addison, in a speech, said it was impossible to abandon export permits. So long as the blockade continued there must be some control. We were under an obligation to assist our allies and had already taken steps in that direction, but he would restore the export trade as soon as possible'. ISSUE OF WAR BONDS. Received Dec. 14, 12.15 a.m. fcondon, Dec. 12. The Treasury announces that the present issue of war bonds will be withdrawn early in January.
