BRITISH NEARING COLOGNE. SINISTER STORIES OF FIGHTING. NECESSITY FOR CAUTION. (London, Dec. 6. The British are within ten miles of Cologne.—Reuter via AmericaLondon, Dec. 6. A war correspondent states:—Although the first stage of the march through Germany has been completed without untoward incident the air is full of rumors of collisions between Ger- j man and Allied troops. There are circumstantial stories of fighting at one place or another. It is impossible to learn whether tEere is any truth in them, but their prevalence indicates how the air on both sides of the frontier is charged with electricity and how necessary it is to go cautiously.
