The Board of Trade conceded the railwayraen's demand for an eight-hour day, which is applicable to all railway wageearners in Britain and Ireland, numbering half a million, and operates on February 1. Existing conditions of the service have not been altered, pending the decision of a committee, which is to Ibe set up as, soon as possible, to review the wage a and other conditions of service of railway men in Great Britain.
