| PREVENTION OF AGGREGATION. i By Telegraph.—Special Correspondent. Wellington, .Last Night. | The Land Amendment Bill introduced in the House last night provides for the separation of the Auckland Land District into two districts. It also repeals ;'section 7 of clause 05 of The Land Act of 1913, referring to the compensation to be paid for land taken by the Crown to prevent aggregation. lit future, instead of the compensation not exceeding the purchase money paid, or agreed to be paid, for the land by the owner who acquired it by way, oi aggregation, it shall not exceed the capital value as recorded in the district valuation roll at the time of its acquisition by the purchaser, plus ten per cent. The ValuerGeneral may make a special valuation for the purpose of assessing compensation in cases where the land affected is part of an estate and has not been separately valued. , The old provision that irt the case of land acquired otherwise than by'purchase the compensation is rnt to exceed the sum at which it was assessed for stamp duty is to stand. ~, The daily allowance of members of land boards is increased from 15s to 20s.
