Perfect Cay has been scratched for the Lepperton Welter at the Taranaki Jockey Club's Christmas meeting. STRATFORD RACING CLUB. A committee meeting was held on Friday evening. The secretary was instructed to apply to the Railway Department for special race trains. The Stratford Band will supply the music, and Mr. Wooller (New Plymouth) the catering. Regarding the issue of complimentary tickets it was resolved to follow the lead of Manawatu, Wanganui and Marton, and issue no tickets, except to officials of other clubs and owriers of racehorses. This course is deemed necessary, as the club requires to augment its funds, in view of extensive improvements being necessary to its property and appointments. It is not generally known that all profits derived by the club from the totalisator have to be given away in stakes the following year. The totalisator money is thus of no use in providing the club with money for improvements, upkeep and running expenses. Finance ;in . this direction is secured from i gate money, nomination and acceptance money, etc., and under these circumstances the club finds it absolutely necessary to only issue complimentary tickets to those indicated. , Regarding the publican's booth, a subcommittee was set up to deal with the I question.
