THE PACIFIC ISLANDS. Sydney, Dec. 6. The Legislative Council passed a motion that every effort should be made at the Peace Conference to ensure that tho German possessions in the Pacific should be permanency incorporated in the British Empire.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
FIRE ON COPRA STEAMER. Sydney, Dee. 6. A fire on the American schooner Edward R. West in the harbor caused extensive damage to the vessel and her cargo of copra. Four members of the crew have been arrested.
